The Yurt has visited many, many places up and down the British Isles, from small events to very large ones. From large city to remote rural locations.
In July 2000 the Yurt was invited to Norway as part of the International Felt Festival.
We set up the Yurt with fellow yurt keepers from Finland and Denmark in the main city centre of Bergen.Pictured here in Torgalmenningen square a Norweigan lady finds the interior of the yurt a cool place to rest on a hot day,one of the many wonderful properties of felt, insulation.
In 2003 the Yurt Keepers and friends travelled to Kyrgystan and Kazakhstan to correlate how felt is made there and to collect some artifacts to take back .We had a wonderful display of origional feltwork at a two day exhibition on ethenic minorities in Traquar in 2004.
2005 was an exciting year for the yurt keepers as they went to Mongolia to share skills with rural feltmakers and took part in several exhibitions and presented talks workshops.
Photos of theis exciting voyage can be seen on www.sendler.co.uk and soon on this page.
